Fireworks after the Marlins vs. Padres game. We lost 2-1, but the game was pretty enjoyable, anyways. Had a great time with my DH analog for the evening, J and want to go back for more games.

Fuck you, Douglas Falls.
Picture it: Craggy Gardens trailhead, Blue Ridge Mountains, June 11, 2010. A young, semi-adventurous couple out for a leisurely easy-level 1.5 mile hike to shoot rhododendrons and a nice 360 shot of the surrounding mountains... They see an unassuming sign to Douglas Falls... it says "more difficult," but it can't be that far... maybe that's the 1.5 mile hike? This wrong turn ends the semi-adventurous couple on an 8-mile death hike up and down the mountain: through switch-backs, jutting rocks in the path, undergrowth hiding the trail, pricker plants, squelchy ground, and a multitude of little trickling slime-covered waterways. All leading to this... the Douglas frakkin trickle. Not impressive in the least. The death slog wouldn't have been so bad, if there was a payoff.
But, melodrama aside, we made it and we're only a little worse for wear.

View of Biltmore Estate from the Inn at Biltmore. How cool would that be if this were your everyday view?

Alright, I've got to find my creative motivational mojo. My blog pics of late have sucked. This is a hasty attempt at putting something up that is at least better than yesterday's horrendous pic.

Looks like we may be taking up pool. I ordered 2 cases to go along with our cues... I designed the top case and the pocket for the bottom. The bottom model came out after I left.

Branchety bushes near the Fort Lauderdale River Walk. Went to the Fort Lauderdale Museum of Discovery & Science, which was short on non-broken science; but on the plus side admission was free since we have Bank of America cards, I got to play with electricity in a Jacob's Ladder, and it was tortoise masturbation with a rock day. Lovely. At least he wasn't making the horrendous turtle sex noise.

My first food cooked with fire of the season. All I wanted for Memorial Day was beef that had been cooked on an open flame, and despite hard drive and various other dramas, my good friends J & E came through with the beefy goodness. Thx guys for a kickass poolside cookout.

The squatty little black box on the right is our sexy new 2 Terrabyte hard drive. It seems an aging Macbook Pro can only hold so many pictures....
